Actor Aubrey Plaza has deleted her Instagram account shortly after the tragic death of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena. According to Us Weekly, Aubrey’s account, once active, is now unavailable. Searching for her profile displays the message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”
Jeff Baena, 47, was found dead earlier this month at a residence in Los Angeles. Medical examiner records obtained by Us Weekly list the official cause of death as suicide, with no additional causes or suspicious circumstances noted.
Born and raised in Miami, Jeff attended film school at New York University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. He gained recognition for co-writing the 2004 indie film I Heart Huckabees and later directed films such as Life After Beth (2014), Horse Girl (2020), and Spin Me Round (2022).
In a joint statement to Page Six, Aubrey and Jeff’s family shared their grief: “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.” Earlier, her representative told Deadline, “The family is devastated and asks for privacy at this difficult time.”
The couple had been together for over a decade and secretly married in 2020. They had no children.
