Mandy Moore is among the Hollywood stars who have lost their homes in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she and her family are now staying with fellow actor Hil Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma, who generously opened their doors to the displaced family.
Griffin Goldsmith, Mandy’s brother-in-law and member of the band Dawes, expressed his gratitude in an emotional Instagram post. “Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilduff thought it wise to set up a GoFundMe for us to help with everything moving forward. Not to mention they are currently housing my brother’s family. They’ve taken care of my entire family from the moment this began. I will never be able to thank them adequately. This is the kindest act any human could do for another,” Griffin wrote.
The GoFundMe campaign raised $205,000 to help Griffin and his wife rebuild their lives. Mandy Moore also shared the campaign, which led to criticism from some. Addressing the backlash, Mandy responded in an Instagram Story: “Of course we are [helping]. Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help.”
Last week, Mandy revealed she was “devastated and gutted” after the Eaton Fire destroyed her Altadena home. “Praying for everyone in our beautiful city,” she wrote.
