ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court on Friday ordered the handover of Al-Qadir University to the federal government along with sentencing PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi £190m case.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana pronounced long-awaited judgment in the £190 million case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail.
Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana awarded 14-year sentence to the PTI founder and a seven-year sentence to his wife Bushra Bibi.
In its verdict, the court also ordered Al-Qadir University to be handed over to the federal government and asked the government to take over the management of the university.
It should be remembered that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are facing legal problems due to the Al-Qadir University project.
al Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases were filed on both of them due to abuse of power and allegations of financial irregularities.
Despite political support and strong publicity, only 200 students were enrolled to Al-Qadir University, which was considered the dream project of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, during 4 years.
