TOKYO — Decades after the U.S. trade war with Japan, Washington is once again imposing steep tariffs on foreign-made cars, this time with a seeming eye on China’s electric vehicle makers.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday announced his decision to impose an additional 25% tariff on foreign-made cars, to go into effect next Wednesday.
