SEOUL — South Korea’s Constitutional Court on Friday upheld the legislature’s decision to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol, immediately ousting him from office.

The country has 60 days to elect a new leader, as stipulated by the constitution. Until it does, the president’s duties will be carried out by Han Duck-soo, the acting president and prime minister. Analysts and local media expect voting for the new president to take place on the last possible day, which is June 3.
