Eight Pakistani nationals were shot and killed in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province. The incident happened in the village of Hazabad in the Mehrstan district.

The victims, who were mechanics, were attacked while working at a workshop. So far, five of them have been identified. Among the deceased are the workshop owner Dilshad, his son Naeem, and three others named Jafar, Danish, and Nasir — all from Punjab, Pakistan.

This tragic event follows a recent case in Febru 2025, when four Pakistanis were rescued from human traffickers in Iran. These individuals had entered Iran legally but were later kidnapped by traffickers who tortured them and demanded ransom from their families. The Embassy of Pakistan, with the help of Iranian authorities, managed to save them and arrest the traffickers.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, urged Pakistani citizens to use legal routes when traveling to Iran and to stay in contact with the Pakistani Embassy to avoid falling into the hands of human traffickers. The rescued individuals expressed their gratitude to both the Embassy and the Iranian government for their help.
