TOKYO — Japan will add undersea cables, satellites and rockets to a list of goods considered critical for the country’s economic security, Nikkei has learned, along with several other items exposed to shocks in overseas sourcing.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry intends to present a proposal at an experts meeting opening Tuesday. The new fields would be added to the economic security plan, which will be revised as soon as May.
