TOKYO — American chip startup SambaNova Systems says demand is growing in Asia for more affordable artificial intelligence solutions to replace Nvidia’s costly hardware, with the emergence of open-source models like that of China’s DeepSeek adding momentum to the shift.
“Demand from the APAC region has significantly risen, particularly this year,” Toshinori Kujiraoka, vice president for the region, told Nikkei Asia.
