- He defended his role as a “Parchi” despite his struggles and the success of the show.
“Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum” was a famous TV show that propelled many Pakistani actors to fame. Ali, one of the most talked-about characters, portrayed Mustafa’s supportive friend. Ijaz Ali Khan, the actor behind the role, was a struggling artist who has since appeared in multiple other dramas, often in supporting roles.
Recently, a clip of the “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum” actor went viral on social media, where he strongly reacted to being called Fahad Mustafa’s “Parchi” by his fellow actors, friends, and members of the fraternity.
Talking about it, Ijaz Ali Khan said, “In Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum I played the character of Fahad Bhai’s friend Ali. After the success of the show, I received multiple calls saying, ‘you are Parchi of Fahad Mustafa’. Sir, I have been here for 6 years, I did work on the backstage, mainly in the production. I did short roles in multiple other dramas which didn’t work. Not every drama gets the same recognition as KMKT. It was a big drama because of Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir, the story was also good. How can I be a Parchi (reference) of someone with this much struggle? Parchi are those who instantly get projects and become overnight celebrities. I am not a Parchi.”
