TOKYO — China has stopped importing liquefied natural gas from the U.S., shipping data shows, as the trade war between Beijing and Washington drives up the price of bringing such cargoes into the world’s No. 2 economy and pushes buyers to divert their purchases to other destinations.
China has not received a single LNG shipment from America since Feb. 6, when a carrier that sailed from Corpus Christi in Texas called at a facility in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, according to ship tracking data from Kpler, a commodities data firm.
