SYDNEY — Australia’s center-left Labor Party will prevail in the country’s federal election, national broadcaster the ABC projected, meaning Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set to become the first Australian leader in more than 20 years to be reelected after serving a full three-year term.

Early vote counting showed Labor “substantially ahead,” said ABC election analyst Antony Green, meaning Labor would form either a majority or minority government as its Liberal-National coalition rivals would not be in a position to challenge.
