Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan on Sunday at a time of rising tensions with India following the Pahalgam incident.

His visit highlights the strong and historic relationship between Pakistan and Iran, showing both countries’ desire to deepen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

During his trip, Araghchi is expected to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The visit will also include discussions on regional and international matters.

Pakistan and Iran share close ties based on common history, culture, and religion. Araghchi’s visit is seen as a move to further strengthen these relations.

Before the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the call, he stated that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and has no involvement in the Pahalgam attack.

He also mentioned that Pakistan has suffered heavily from terrorism over the past 20 years and is open to a neutral investigation into the incident.
