Karachi to experience rain, thunderstorms
Wind and thunderstorms are expected in the outskirts of Karachi, while several districts of Balochistan brace for rain, hail, and gusty winds, according to the latest advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Karachi is expected to stay hot and humid over the next 24 hours, with temperatures likely to reach between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, the lowest temperature was 28°C, and humidity levels reached 72 percent. Dry winds from the east are blowing at around 6 kilometers per hour. While most parts of the city will likely remain dry, the weather department has warned that areas on the outskirts of Karachi could see winds and thunderstorms later in the day.
In Balochistan, weather conditions are becoming more severe. The weather office has predicted rain, hailstorms, and strong winds in several districts, especially in Kalat, Sibi, Barkhan, Kohlu, Qila Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Nushki, and Musakhel. The rain is expected to fall under partly cloudy skies, but some areas might get heavier rain along with hail and strong gusts.
Other areas, including Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Harnai, Zhob, Khuzdar, Kharan, Lasbela, Panjgur, and Chaghi, may also experience sudden changes in weather.
On Thursday, the highest temperatures in Balochistan were recorded as follows: Sibi and Nokundi at 43°C, Turbat at 41°C, Quetta and Gwadar at 34°C, Zhob and Chaman at 32°C, Kalat at 29°C, and Ziarat at 22°C.
