Weather update; rains, hailstorms expected in Islamabad, Pakistan

Rain and strong winds, along with some heavy showers and hailstorms, are expected in Islamabad and different parts of Pakistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department says a westerly weather system is currently affecting the upper and central areas of the country.

Because of this, rain and gusty winds are expected in scattered areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast and south Balochistan, upper and southeast Sindh, eastern Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday night. In some places, heavy rain and hailstorms could also happen.

Jacobabad, Sakrand and Nokundi remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Turbat and Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 40°C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 49 percent.

In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 50 percent.
