Indonesian palm oil exports set to fall with biofuel mandate Indonesian palm oil exports set to fall with biofuel mandate

JAKARTA — Indonesian exports of crude palm oil are expected to drop during 2025 due to increased domestic biofuel policy mandates but prices are likely to rise because of this, U.S. tariffs distorting the market and other geopolitical factors, industry players have forecasted.

Palm oil is one of the most widely-used vegetable oils. It is a key ingredient in many foods and cosmetics in addition to biofuel. Indonesia accounts for 59% of the global supply and Malaysia 24%, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
