Authorities arrested Chris Brown on Thursday morning in Manchester, England, after he allegedly hit music producer Abe Diaw, according to reports.
Page Six reported that in 2023, the “Under the Influence” artist hit the music producer with a tequila bottle at a London nightclub. The Metropolitan Police told “The Sun” that they detained Chris Brown at the five-star Lowry Hotel on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
“He has been taken into custody, where he remains,” the police officer stated to the outlet.
He added that the globally renowned musician’s arrest relates to an incident that occurred at a venue in Hanover Square on Febru 19, 2023. Meanwhile, detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are leading the investigation, the officer confirmed.
In October 2023, Diaw filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown, claiming the singer had assaulted him eight months earlier.
The music producer stated that Chris Brown inflicted severe and lasting injuries by hitting him on the head with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 in Febru 2023. According to Diaw, the incident occurred at the Tape London nightclub.
According to Diaw, the two-time Grammy winner allegedly “ruthlessly stomped on” him and kicked him in the back and neck, causing him to lose consciousness for almost 30 seconds.
Diaw also claimed that Chris Brown’s “crushing blows” sent him to the hospital with lacerations on his head and torn ligaments in his leg.
