SYDNEY — Australia’s Liberal-National coalition, the country’s main political opposition, will split, marking a major shift in the political landscape that comes after the coalition was convincingly beaten by the ruling Labor Party on May 3.
National Party leader David Littleproud said on Tuesday his party, which represents rural areas, would not re-enter a coalition agreement, citing disagreements over policy positions.
