COAS Gen Asim Munir promoted to rank of field marshal
On Tuesday, the federal government decided to promote Chief of the Army Staff, General Asim Munir, to the rank of field marshal.
The decision was made in a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The promotion was given in recognition of General Munir’s role in protecting the country and successfully leading “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos” with strong leadership and smart strategy.
Meanwhile, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has expressed profound gratitude to Allah, the Almighty, upon receiving a prestigious honor In his message, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir dedicated the accolade to the nation, the armed forces, and especially the civilian and milit martyrs and veterans.
“I am thankful to the President, the Prime Minister, and the Cabinet for their trust,” Field Marshal Asim Munir said. He added that the honor is a trust bestowed upon him by the nation, vowing that “millions of Asims are ready to sacrifice to uphold this trust.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir said that this honor is not just for him personally, but for the entire Pakistan Armed Forces and the nation. He thanked the people of Pakistan for their constant support.
