Karachi: More than 100 citizens lost lives in first 9 months of 2024
Karachi is grappling with a dramatic rise in street crime, with nearly 100 lives lost in snatching incidents during the first nine months of this year.
The Citizen Police Liaison Committee has revealed alarming figures for this period. Over 15,000 mobile phones were stolen, and motorcycle thefts skyrocketed to 35,000 cases. Additionally, around 1,200 vehicles were reported stolen or snatched.
Just yesterday, in Sarjani Sector 36, a man named Faisal was shot by robbers after he refused to give up his motorcycle.
He was severely injured and rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. Faisal had resisted the criminals when they attempted to rob him and his brother, leading to the fatal shooting.
