Under the influence of this meteorological condition, intense heatwaves will continue to prevail across Pakistan till May 24.
Daytime temperatures are expected to stay 4°C to 6°C higher than normal in the southern parts of the country, including Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan.
In the northern and central regions, such as Islamabad, central and upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, temperatures may be 5°C to 7°C above normal. Hot weather is likely to cause gusty winds in plain areas due to intense heating.
People, especially children, women, and the elderly, are advised to take precautions during this hot period. It is important to avoid direct sunlight during the day and to stay well hydrated.
Farmers should plan their farming activities according to the weather conditions and take care of their animals. In the northern areas, the rising temperatures could cause snow to melt more quickly, so people are advised to use water carefully in all aspects of daily life.
