Seven terrorists backed by India were killed in two separate operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, while four Pakistani soldiers, including a young officer, were martyred during an exchange of fire, according to a statement from the milit’s media wing on Thursday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that during the night between May 28 and 29, Indian-backed militants attempted to attack a security check post in the Shawal area of North Waziristan. Security forces responded effectively and, after intense gunfire, six of the attackers were killed.
However, four soldiers embraced martyrdom in the clash. They were identified as Lieutenant Daniyal Ismail, aged 24 from Mardan, Naib Subedar Kashif Raza, aged 42 from Chakwal, Lance Naik Fiaqat Ali, aged 35 from Haripur, and Sepoy Muhammad Hameed, aged 26 from Abbottabad.
In a separate incident in Chitral district, security forces killed another Indian-sponsored militant. The ISPR said search operations are still underway in the area to find and eliminate any remaining terrorists.
The milit reaffirmed its commitment to completely rid the country of Indian-sponsored terrorism, stating that the security forces are determined to eliminate this threat from Pakistan.
