PESHAWAR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued report on losses caused by rain, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
According to a report issued by the PDMA, rain and strong winds since May 27 have resulted in human and material losses across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
So far, eight people have lost their lives and 21 have been injured due to rain- and wind-related incidents. The deceased include five men, two women, and one child, while the injured consist of 10 men, five women, and six children.
The PDMA report further states that a total of 25 houses have been damaged—24 partially and one completely destroyed.
These incidents were reported in various districts, including Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Shangla, Swat, Torghar, Mohmand, Mansehra, and Haripur.
The PDMA has instructed local district administrations to quickly provide aid to affected families and ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care.
More rain expected until May 31 the PDMA had already advised district administrations to stay ready and take steps to prevent further harm.
The authority is in constant communication with all district administrations and relief organizations.
