CALIFORNIA: YouTube is rolling out an exciting new tool to make watching Shorts videos even more engaging and informative for its users. Now, as you scroll through Shorts, you can quickly find out more about almost anything you see in the video, all thanks to Google Lens.

Google Lens is like a smart eye that identifies objects, places, or text through your camera or on a screen, then pulls up information about them. This handy feature is now built right into YouTube Shorts. So, if something in a video catches your eye, you can get instant details.

Using it couldn’t be simpler just open the YouTube app play a Shorts video, pause it, and tap the ‘Lens’ button that appears at the top. From there pick out what you’re curious about and Google Lens will quickly bring up relevant information, pictures, or search results right on your screen.

This new addition is a big step forward. It makes videos more purposeful, helps you understand visual details better, and gives you quick access to information, all changing how we interact with short-form content.

For now, this feature is in a testing phase, available only to a limited number of users. But YouTube plans to make it widely available soon.
