PM Shehbaz says Any move to stops water flow will face retaliation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warned on Tuesday that if anyone tries to stop the flow of water to Pakistan, they will face serious consequences. While speaking at a jirga in Peshawar, he said that India is threatening to cut off Pakistan’s water supply, but the enemy has already seen what happens when they provoke war. He said that every drop of water is the right of the Pakistani people.

The prime minister also shared that he recently visited four countries and saw hope and happiness there. He said that with Allah’s blessings, Pakistan will also win economically just like it has succeeded in past wars.

He praised Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir and said that under his leadership, the Pakistan Armed Forces have taught a strong lesson to the enemy.

He said it was an honor to be part of the jirga and that he was there to listen carefully to the concerns of the people. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a great and beautiful province and its people are brave, honorable, and patriotic.

He mentioned that they have always stood by Pakistan and defended it with great courage. He said that whenever the country needed help, the people of KP raised the national flag proudly and that their sacrifices will always be remembered. Referring to the tragic APS attack, he said the government had taken very important decisions afterward.

Talking about the NFC Award, he mentioned that Ali Amin Gandapur said it’s been 15 years since the last NFC Award and it should be updated. The prime minister said he had already asked for a committee to be formed, and the KP chief minister has sent the names for the province’s representation.

Speaking about terrorism, the prime minister said KP has always been on the front line in the war against terror. He added that over the years, more than Rs700 billion has been given to KP, and Balochistan has also suffered from many terrorist attacks.

He promised to set up a committee to address issues related to KP and said that the committee will meet soon. He assured that the province’s matters will be taken seriously and handled with agreement from all sides.

Looking back at past conflicts with India, he said the whole nation stood behind the Pakistan Armed Forces during the war. People prayed for the safety and success of the milit. He recalled that at 2:30 in the morning, the field marshal had informed him that India had attacked.

At the same jirga, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur asked the federal government to involve KP in the peace talks with Afghanistan and to stop drone attacks in the province. He congratulated the nation for standing strong against the enemy’s aggression and said that the PTI leadership had united the people for the country’s defence, despite political differences.

He urged the federal government not to impose taxes on the former FATA and PATA regions and said there should be wise investment in the tribal areas affected by terrorism. He also demanded an end to drone attacks in KP, saying innocent people suffer because of them.

He insisted that the tribal areas’ share in the NFC Award should be handed over to the province and that the federal government should clear all dues owed to KP. He called for the jirga system to be restored to help resolve disputes in a lasting way and again stressed the need to include KP in talks with Afghanistan.
