ISLAMABAD: The government’s upcoming budget for the new fiscal year includes proposals for significant spending, notably on the Prime Minister’s Office and new housing for ministers. These allocations are part of broader development projects currently under consideration.

A sum of PKR 65 million has been suggested for the sprucing up of the Prime Minister’s Office. Additionally, the budget puts forward PKR 132.7 million for building 12 new apartments within the Ministers’ Enclave in Islamabad, aiming to provide more modern accommodation for officials.

Further funds have also been set aside for essential upgrades in another key government building. The Shaheed-e-Millat Building is slated to receive PKR 53.6 million specifically for the repair and replacement of its old elevators, ensuring smoother operations for those working there.

According to the budget documents, the total estimated cost for this particular project, which includes the PM Office work and the new apartments, is PKR 180 million. This spending is projected to take place by June 30, 2025, marking the completion of these various infrastructure improvements.
