HANOI — The authorities in Vietnam will use digital technology to deal with the country’s largest financial fraud case, in which former property tycoon Truong My Lan was convicted in 2022.
The sheer volume of paperwork needed to compensate the 43,125 victims in the case means those who lost money might have been kept waiting 20 years, according to an official from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, quoted by the Nguoi Lao Dong news website. The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee is the formal name of the city government.
