Khawaja Asif urges peaceful resolution of Kashmir, Palestine issues
BEIJING: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ Conference, called on the international community to ensure the peaceful resolution of long-standing disputes such as Kashmir and Palestine.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, the minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the principles and objectives of the SCO, while expressing deep concern over ongoing global conflicts.
Khawaja Asif strongly condemned Israel’s unjustified and illegal milit actions against Iran and voiced serious concern over the humanitarian crisis and continued violence in Gaza.
Addressing the SCO conference, Khawaja Asif said that immediate ceasefire should be implemented in Gaza and the international community should ensure a peaceful resolution of long -standing resolution conflicts such as Kashmir and Palestine while such resolution conflicts are a constant threat to global peace and security.
The Defence Minister said that terrorism is a common threat that needs to be dealt with collectively, all states should refrain from giving joint efforts against terrorism, peace and stable Afghanistan is essential to achieving a joint vision of sustainable prosperity in the region.
