Derek Grossman is a professor of political science and international relations at the University of Southern California. He formerly served as a senior defense analyst at RAND Corp. and the daily intelligence briefer to the assistant secret of defense for Asian and Pacific security affairs at the Department of Defense.
On Feb. 13, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi became just the fourth foreign leader to visit the White House to meet with President Donald Trump. Modi, whom Trump referred to during the visit as “a great friend,” arrived to much fanfare as the two leaders heralded the historically strong and vibrant U.S.-India strategic partnership.
