TikTok has recently removed a staggering 78,827,465 videos for violating its community guidelines, according to the platform’s Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. Among these, 144,430,133 videos were taken down automatically, underscoring TikTok’s reliance on advanced technology to quickly identify and eliminate harmful content.
In Pakistan alone, TikTok removed over 30,709,744 videos during the latest reporting period as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen content moderation and enhance user safety.
Impressively, 99.5% of the removed videos were proactively taken down before any user reports, and 97% were removed within just 24 hours of being posted, demonstrating TikTok’s commitment to a secure user experience.
The report offers transparency into TikTok’s approach to content moderation, particularly in Pakistan, where the platform continues to prioritize its automated moderation technology. With a proactive detection rate of 98.2%, TikTok has effectively managed to address harmful content before it reaches users. Additionally, the report highlights a 50% decrease in videos being restored after removal, reinforcing the accuracy of TikTok’s moderation systems.
