The Punjab Health Department announced on Wednesday that 172 new dengue cases were reported across the province in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures, Rawalpindi accounted for 157 cases, Lahore recorded 8, Jhelum reported 2, and Gujranwala, Chakwal, Attock, Sargodha, and Okara each confirmed one case.

Over the past week, a total of 904 new cases were identified, raising Punjab’s total number of dengue infections for 2024 to 3,771.

The health department assured the public that all necess measures were in place to combat the outbreak, including an adequate supply of medication in public hospitals throughout the province.

In light of the increasing cases, a public advisory was issued, urging residents to keep their surroundings clean and dry to prevent the spread of the virus. The public was also encouraged to cooperate with health teams working to control the situation.
