JIT forms to probe viral news of female student
LAHORE: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was formed to investigate the viral news related to the female student in Lahore.
The JIT was headed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Muhammad Naveed, the 6-member JIT includes three police and representatives of three secret agencies, while the first meeting of the JIT has been convened today.
Apart from this, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime registered a case against 38 people for instigating the agitation.
The case was registered on the application private college principal. The two students suspected to be involved in the case were warned by the vice-principal to stop making the videos.
He said that after this propaganda on social media, an unruly and violent mob attacked private college campus.
On the other hand, the Judicial Magistrate issued an order to discharge an accused from the case in the case of spreading the news of the private college case virally, while the IG and Advocate General Punjab have been summoned in the Lahore High Court today in the case of investigation of the college incident .

Earlier, Police have arrested over 250 people in connection with violent protests sparked by allegations of the rape of a female student at a private college in Lahore.
Authorities have been identifying and apprehending suspects using video footage. The number of those detained has reached 250, with more arrests expected.
Police clarified that not all detainees are students, with some non-student elements involved in vandalism and other unlawful activities under the cover of the protests.
