TOKYO — Sony Group has begun providing technical and financial support to video game companies in the Middle East and North Africa following similar initiatives in China and India, aiming to have its PlayStation 5 console put down roots in these markets through locally developed software.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) started the Hero Project in China in 2016 to support local software companies and creators. In addition to lending development funds, it provides guidance on graphics and PS5 game engines.
