RAWALPINDI, 19th September, 2024 (WAM) — Fifty-seven new dengue cases have been confirmed in Rawalpindi, Pakistan over the past 24 hours, increasing the number of patients under treatment in allied hospitals to 100, (APP) reported.
According to the latest update from the District Health Authority, the total number of positive cases this year has reached 501, with Pothohar Town identified as the most affected area. Notably, 27 new patients were reported from Pothohar Town alone in the last 24 hours, while the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board areas accounted for an additional 9 cases.
In response to the rising number of cases, the district administration, in coordination with allied departments, has mandated strict enforcement of dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Surveillance and response measures are being significantly intensified to mitigate the risk of a large-scale outbreak.
