JAKARTA — Indonesia kicked off its first joint naval exercise with Russia on Monday, as its newly inaugurated president looks to deepen security ties with Moscow.
Drills will run until Friday on the northeastern coast of Java, according to the Indonesian Navy, with the nation deploying weapons systems and warships while Russia is sending several small warships.
