Ali Fazal recently opened up about his discomfort while shooting a particularly violent scene in the popular web series Mirzapur.
In an interview with Sucharita Tyagi, the actor revealed that he faced a ‘moral dilemma’ while filming the intense sequence, which he felt was unnecess. “I did not understand why anybody would write something like that,” Ali confessed, expressing his concerns over the scene’s purpose and impact.
Despite his unease with certain aspects of Mirzapur, Ali Fazal continues to be a part of several upcoming high-profile projects. He is set to star in Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino (2024), and will also feature in Lahore 1947, alongside Sunny Deol. Additionally, he will appear in Thug Life, a film headlined by Kamal Haasan.
Ali’s international career is also gaining momentum. He recently confirmed his role in the Hollywood film Rule Breakers, which stars writer-actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Directed by two-time Oscar winner Bill Guttentag, the movie explores themes of resilience and defiance in Afghanistan. It is set to release in March 2025.
Fazal also featured in the announcement teaser for Mirzapur – The Film, a highly anticipated adaptation of the hit Hindi crime thriller series, signaling his continued involvement with the franchise.
