WASHINGTON — U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said he will appoint former Sen. David Perdue to be his ambassador to China, saying that his mission will be to maintain productive ties with Beijing.
Trump made the announcement Thursday night on Truth Social, calling the 74-year-old Perdue “a loyal supporter and friend.”
