KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian budget airline AirAsia is looking to procure aircraft from Brazil’s Embraer, Canada’s Bombardier and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) as it seeks to expand its fleet and destinations after the COVID-19 pandemic slump.
Tony Fernandes, the founder of Southeast Asia’s largest low-cost airline and CEO of its shareholder Capital A, told reporters on Monday that it is exploring partnerships with aircraft manufacturers beyond Airbus, its long-time supplier.
