SEOUL — South Korean anti-corruption investigators arrived at the residence of impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol on Friday morning in an attempt to serve a warrant for his arrest, local television broadcasters reported.

If the investigators manage to take Yoon into custody, it would mark the first time a sitting South Korean president has been arrested. Yoon and his legal team have called the investigation illegitimate and refused to cooperate. Hundreds of Yoon’s supporters gathered outside his residence in Seoul to protect the president from arrest.
