UK government announces crackdown on human traffickers
The British government has decided to take the major action against human traffickers.
According to a foreign media report, the British Home Secret has termed human traffickers a serious threat to the UK’s security and announced that legislation will be introduced soon in this regard.
The British Home Secret stated that those involved in human trafficking will be banned from traveling, using mobile phones, and laptops. Additionally, human traffickers will not be allowed to use social media.
The Home Secret further said that access to financial transactions of individuals involved in human trafficking will be blocked, and they will not be able to engage in any trade or business. Actions against human traffickers will be taken under the Serious Crime Prevention Order.
According to official UK statistics, more than 36,800 people attempted dangerous crossings in 2024, during which dozens of individuals lost their lives.
Enver Solomon, the head of the Refugee Council, stated that the government needs to adopt a different approach. If every possible effort is made to prevent human trafficking, such losses can be avoided this year.
