BARCELONA, Spain — Monetization of the 5G communication technology helped by artificial intelligence features will be a priority for the telecom industry this year before it starts investing heavily in the next generation of wireless network technologies, according to executives at Ericsson.
Chafic Nassif, senior vice president at the telecom equipment supplier, told Nikkei Asia that Ericsson is seeing the telecom industry going back to focusing on developing user cases with added values after deploying the 5G network infrastructure for years.
