Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is gearing up to roll out new features aimed at both strengthening user privacy and enhancing user experience.

One of the key features in the upcoming update, which will be available in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.10.14 on the Google Play Store, focuses on limiting chat sharing and controlling how media is saved on users’ devices. With this new update, WhatsApp will allow users to prevent photos and videos received in chats from being automatically saved to their phone’s gallery.

While this option was previously available only for disappearing chats, it will now be extended to all chats if users choose to activate the new advanced chat privacy setting.

In addition to controlling media downloads, the update will also introduce a restriction on exporting entire chat histories. If a user has enabled the advanced privacy setting, WhatsApp will block others from exporting the conversation with that person. This move is intended to safeguard private conversations and prevent unauthorized sharing of messages, offering a new layer of confidentiality and control over personal data.

Alongside these privacy improvements, WhatsApp is also launching a creative feature that lets users add tempor music clips to their profile updates. This new addition allows users to express themselves by including short audio tracks in their status, similar to the Stories features seen on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

The music clip feature is being gradually rolled out and is expected to be available to all users worldwide in the coming weeks. With these updates, WhatsApp continues to evolve not only as a secure messaging service but also as a more personalized and expressive platform for its global audience.
