JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto concluded his week-long tour of the Middle East on Tuesday, expressing optimism about new trade ties and investment commitments — notably a planned $4 billion joint fund with Qatar through Danantara Indonesia.
Danantara, Indonesia’s new sovereign wealth fund launched by Prabowo in Febru, said in a statement on Tuesday that it and the Qatar Investment Authority will each contribute $2 billion to the joint fund. It will focus on investment in minerals processing, renewable energy, health and technology sectors in Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
