Overseas Pakistanis are the pride of the Nation not a loss: COAS General Asim Munir

Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, while addressing the first Overseas Pakistani Convention in Islamabad, praised the contributions of overseas Pakistanis, calling them “the bright face of the nation.”

He emphasized that Pakistan does not suffer from a brain drain but rather enjoys a “brain gain,” thanks to the expertise and excellence of Pakistanis living abroad.

The Army Chief expressed deep admiration for the patriotism of the diaspora, noting that overseas Pakistanis are not only ambassadors of the country but also a source of global pride. He encouraged them to stay rooted in their identity and heritage, emphasizing that Pakistan’s foundation is based on a powerful ideology and rich civilization that must be passed down to future generations.

Speaking firmly on national security, Gen Munir dismissed any threats posed by terrorism, clearly asserting that even multiple generations of militants cannot challenge the unity and sovereignty of Pakistan. Furthermore, he described Balochistan as the “crown jewel” of the country, emphatically highlighting its strategic and national significance.

The Army Chief reaffirmed the commitment to Pakistan’s progress, declaring that any force working against the country’s development will be defeated. He stated that the question is no longer *if* Pakistan will progress, but *how fast* it will reach its goals.
