Punjab upgrading tourist destinations, says Mam Nawaz
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Mam Nawaz has said that the government is upgrading tourist destinations all over the province and fully prepared to host tourists.
A 25 -member delegation of the Economic Corporation Organization(ECO) met with the Chief Minister Punjab. The delegation included permanent delegates from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
Mam Nawaz welcomed the delegation’s arrival in Lahore, while senior provincial minister Mam Aurangzeb gave a detailed briefing to the delegation.
On this occasion, Mam Nawaz thanked Turkmenistan for assisting Lahore as an ECO capital.
She said that Nawaz Sharif is working for the cultural rehabilitation of Lahore under personal supervision and said Lahore is not just a city but a museum of living history. She further said the streets of the provincial capital have a fragrance of civilization, its archeology is a testimony to the greatness of the past.
She said that the gardens of Lahore, the royal fort and the heritage sites are evidence of glory, it is not only the protector of history but also the center of flavors.
Mam Nawaz added that Punjab is fully prepared to host tourists and government has determined to promote tourism as a new industry. She said government is upgrading tourist destinations all over the province, providing all possible facilities to domestic and foreign tourists.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is becoming an emerging hub of business, technology and services, Punjab has innumerable opportunities in agriculture, technology and other sectors. Land has been smooth in every sector for foreign investment.
The participants of the delegation presented a wonderful calligraphy model and commemoration to the Chief Minister.
