The Catholic faithful are getting their first chance to honor the late Pope Francis at his final resting place a day after hundreds of thousands turned out for his funeral. On the second of nine days of official mourning, another large crowd attended a mass in St. Peter’s Square that was originally intended for the canonization of the first millennial saint, a late Italian teenager named Carlo Acutis. NBC’s Anne Thompson reports for Sunday TODAY.
