Karachi’s Cattle Market reaches full swing as Eid nears

KARACHI: The Cattle-Friendly Market at Northern Bypass has come into full bloom as Eid ul Azha approaches.

The Asia largest livestock market  spanning over 1,100 acres, the market is buzzing with activity as a growing number of sacrificial animals continue to arrive from across the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, and Sindh.

The market is now active across all sections, including General, VIP, and VVIP blocks, featuring a wide range of beautiful and healthy animals.

Traders from various regions — including Azizabad (Karachi), Naushahro Feroze, Ubaruo, Kashmore, Guddu Barrage, Ghotki, and Sukkur — have set up stalls in different blocks of the cattle market, offering their prized animals for sale.

The market is attracting a daily influx of buyers and livestock enthusiasts.

A trader Bilal from Azizabad, Karachi, who has brought in pink-nosed calves and heifers.

Similar, Atif Ali Sehto from Naushahro Feroz has arrived with 50 animals, while Aamir Ali Bhutto from  Ubaburo has also brought 50 sacrificial animals.

A livestock trader from Kashmore has brought in between 80 to 85 premium breed animals, including Nakray, pink, and Sindhi calves, led by young seller Altaf.

Ramzan from Guddu Barrage and Ali and Abdul Ghani Baloch from Sukkur have brought in over 100 animals combined.

The Cattle Market officially began operations on April 17, and will continue to receive sacrificial animals until Eid ul Azha.

As Eid approaches, the pace of buying has also accelerated, with animal lovers visiting the market daily to find their preferred sacrificial animals at negotiable prices.
