TOKYO — Japan and the U.S. are arranging a third round of tariff negotiations to take place this month, with lead Japanese negotiator Ryosei Akazawa set to visit America again after next week’s meeting of Group of Seven finance ministers and central bankers.

The two sides will hold working-level discussions as early as next week. Once the agenda is set, Akazawa will travel to the U.S. for cabinet-level talks, which will be held after Treasury Secret Scott Bessent returns from the G7 meeting in Canada, which is slated to run until May 22.
