SBP releases details of Roshan Digital Accounts in April
KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released new data of Roshan Digital Accounts(RDA) opened by overseas Pakistanis in April 2025.
According to the SBP, overseas Pakistanis opened 8,802 new RDA in April and deposited a total of $177 million into Roshan Digital Accounts, underscoring their growing contribution to the country’s financial system.
The RDA initiative, launched to facilitate banking services for non-resident Pakistanis, continues to play a significant role in boosting foreign exchange reserves and strengthening economic ties with the global Pakistani community.
SBP has reported that the total number of Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) has reached 814,244 as of the end of April 2025.
Since the launch of the initiative 56 months ago, the cumulative deposits in RDAs have exceeded $10.18 billion, marking a significant milestone in financial engagement with the overseas Pakistani community.
Approximately $6.5 billion have been utilized within Pakistan, contributing to various sectors of the economy while around $ two billion have been repatriated by account holders to their countries of residence.
