TOKYO — Japanese defense contractor IHI will launch small observation satellites through a partnership with Finnish space developer Iceye, Nikkei has learned.

IHI will launch up to 24 radar microsatellites through fiscal 2027. The spacecraft — built by either IHI or Iceye — will be sent to a low-orbit altitude of 500 kilometers.
