Karachi Police Chief pays surprise visit to Cattle Market ahead of Eid

KARACHI: The Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho paid a surprise visit to the Asia largest Cattle Market at Northern Bypass.

He was warmly received by Administrator Shahab Ali and Faisal Ali upon arrival.

During his visit, AIG Javed Alam Odho reviewed the security arrangements in place for the Asia’s largest cattle market, which is spread over 1,200 acres. Administrator Shahab Ali briefed him on the overall management and preparations.

The police chief expressed satisfaction over the measures taken, noting that the Karachi Police is fully committed to ensuring public safety throughout the Eid celebrations.

He praised the administration for their efforts and said that improved arrangements were evident in this year’s setup, which is why families continue to visit even late at night.

According to Odho, a robust security plan is in action under the supervision of DIG West Irfan Ali Baloch, SSP

and other senior officers.

The deployment includes: over 1,000 police officers and personnel while more than 27 police mobiles stationed on routes of Cattle Market. He further said around 49 police checkpoints across the routes leading to the market established.

Administrator Shahab Ali also lauded the performance of Karachi Police and their strong security arrangements around the market.

Speaking to the media, he shared that since April 19, over 250,000 animals have been brought to the market, out of which more than 125,000 have already been sold.

He further mentioned that the number of sacrificial animals this year has increased by over 50,000 compared to last year, and the momentum of purchases has surged in recent days.
